AZ Indivisible 6 Health Care Hearing

APRIL 12, 7-8:30 pm, HEALTH CARE HEARING

Scottsdale Community Center Library Auditorium, 3839 N Drinkwater Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

AZ Indivisible CD 6 members are putting on an event for Congressional recess.

In spite of the failure of the GOP American Health Care Act, Republicans in Washington have announced their intention to continue to push for repeal of the Affordable Care Act—which itself has failed a whole demographic in Arizona.

But especially in Arizona, health care is not just a political topic—it is an issue that calls upon all of us to consider what the current system has accomplished and what needs to change.

In its push to repeal the ACA, the Republican Congress has neglected to hold public hearings with experts in the medical community, the insurance industry, or patients’ rights so as to devise policies that come from information on the ground—not out of the imaginations and fantasies of politicians on the right or the left.

Hearings provide lawmakers indispensable information on cost, accessibility, mandated coverage, coverage for pre-existing conditions, and risk pools, among other aspects of health care.

Since our Congressional representatives have not done so on their own, we offer this hearing on health care as a way to promote reasonable discussion on the health care needs of all Arizonans.

Scheduled to take place during Congressional recess, our health care hearing will provide an opportunity for legislators and citizens alike to consider the perspectives of prominent figures who work every day, and from a variety of angles, with the realities of health care in Arizona.

So that they may consider those points of view, as well as the questions and comments of citizens in the audience, we have invited the entire Arizona Congressional delegation along with the Arizona State Legislature’s committee on Health and Human Services.

We have issued press releases; we have the space and speakers; our ducks are in a row. Now we need not only to attend but to bring two friends. Seating is for three hundred and we hope it’s enough!
