Let’s make it personal #AZLetterAvalanche
When was the last time you got a handwritten letter in the mail? I’m guessing it’s probably been a while.
But I love handwritten notes. They feel personal, emotional and real. There’s something about seeing another person’s handwriting that makes a letter heartfelt. Writing a letter, putting it in an envelope, sticking a stamp on it and putting it in the mail takes time and effort. As a recipient of that letter, it’s difficult to deny the dedication.
This summer, Arizona is launching an #AZLetterAvalanche to Senators Jeff Flake and John McCain.
There’s a lot going on right now and there are many #Resistance efforts out there. Writing a letter to your Senators to express your concerns is good for democracy, but it can be good “self care” for you, too.
What’s your “big issue”? Is it healthcare? Trump/Russia? Climate change? Economic Justice? LGBTQ rights? Racial equality? Immigration? Maybe it’s everything. Write it down. All of it. Write those things you want to say. Be polite, be respectful. But be honest.
The first letter “storm” is scheduled for June 20th, so send your letters now or later, but make sure they get there on time.
Step One: Write Your Letter
Step Two: Write your name and address on the letter AND Envelope.
Step Three: Mail your letter to:
Indivisible of Arizona to Senator (McCain or Flake)
16772 W Bell Rd. Ste 110-261 Surprise AZ 85374
Special notes: We can not deliver letters that are not addressed properly (per instructions above). We will not open letters if Senators do not accept them addressed as is. We will return to sender and potentially try a new method.
And keep writing all summer long. We’ll be delivering them all summer long.
Got questions? Leave them in the comments.
